Using Electromyographic Sensors for Patient Brain Retraining
October 9, 2015 @ 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Dynofit, Inc. (http://www.dynofit.com/) is a health technology startup that has developed a system that uses electromyography on a mobile platform to help people with stroke, traumatic brain injury and cerebral palsy gain or regain control of their muscles. Come hear “Taking Control – Putting Brain Retraining in the Patient’s Hands.” Today’s electromyographic sensors can communicate to consumer devices! Our speakers this month, will describe how they discovered a real market need, started Dynofit Inc., a Los Alamos NM-based company, created DOTs, defined multiple users, designed a solution friendly to all categories of users and worked through multiple iterations to get it right.
Dynofit combines Bluetooth 4.0 EMG sensors with their proprietary apps and software to create mobile technologies to:
– bring therapies out of the clinic and into the home
– measure, digitize, and store all aspects of the therapy while it is underway
– re-imagine physical therapy as a video game, increasing a patient’s engagement and potential retention over that of other therapies
– provide the therapist with a clinical dashboard to fully understand the patient’s progress
